See that. The TX made me forget how to spell my name the other day and today I forget how to spell Bless. Perhaps the side effects are still lingering. |

I finished 48 weeks of treatment December 2005. I too feel less well than I did before treatment, something I can’t quite put my finger on. I did achieve the coveted; Sustained undetectable status. (Stamina: enduring physical or mental energy and strength that allows somebody to do something for a long time.) In the professional arena one needs more than “I don’t feel 100%”, something tangable (my blood wook numbers appear fine). |

I am still non-detectible for just about three years post treatment. I have no energy problems, I am in the frame of mind that I choose to be, I can exercise, even quite strenuosly. My life is 150% better since getting off that crap...but thanks to that crap....I got a life. I did have some rage experiences, was charged with assaulting my daughter, plead guilty, I still do not have my daughter. No rage since being off the crap. It took a while to detox from it though. Yes..it was worth it |

| #19 | my name is jeremiah i was on pegatron and ribivirin for a whole year, before my treatment i was very strong and agile and had alot of energy to carry me through the whole day. Now that i've been off it for two years and two months i still don't feel like my old self even though i'm getting closer to it. i still dont feel quite right.before the drug i used to play hockey with guys my age and beat them in speed, now i have a hard time keeping up with them, i have to push myself harder just to play. i feel that i'm missing that endurance and that extra oomf" that i once had. Could someone tell me how long this drug lasts in your system and will i ever get my stanama back? |

I did my last shot a week ago and took my last pills last night, I was on treatment for 24 weeks, I did pretty well through treatment, just a little forgetfulness, mood swings and most of all no energy. It helped me to read all of the forums on here b/c I was expecting to have energy right away, but from what most of you say it just takes time. So if I can just look forward to the energy I will have. |

You will have immediate results the following week. They will level off after a few weeks and then you kinda have to wait out the mental recovery. Six to eight months sounds about right. Take lots of glucosamine for your joint recovery and do light excercise to get back in shape. Take the exercise thing slowly as you might injure yourself early on. Congrads!!!!! |

I was sure I would NOT continue if I hadn't found out about one simple thing that has made a huge difference (well actually two). First comes in three parts, first hydrate, second hydrate and then third drink some more water. WATER is the most important detoxifying agent in the world. Pegatron is nasty and dehydrates. You need to clean out your system of the drugs you are taking and hydrate every cell possible. IF you are getting headaches that won't go away, you are dehydrated. Drink at least 4L of water per day. The next for me was to get something stronger than Gravol for gastro upset. Feeling awful from nausea is the worst, it is the number two side effect beyond being dehydrated. It made a huge difference. The stuff I take is called prochlorperazine 5 mg TID.
I have two questions: My short term memory sucks and my knee is clicking now when I walk down the stairs. Has anybody found anything to help with memory (ginko?) and how about joint pain and problems. The question is do they go away after therapy?
THANKS from Don who lives in North Bay Ontario CANADA and is freezing his ass off this winter. Now it is -16 degrees celcius and my snowbank at the end of my parkway is over 5 feet high.

| #25 | Hi Dahn, Unfortunately I have joint pain two years post treatment. I see a pain doctor. He gives me Lyrica, which is sort of an antidepressant that works to relieve inflammation of the nerves. I think it's great, but sort of expensive. It isn't at all good for the memory, as with most antidepressants.
Hope this helps. |

| #27 | Hi Alison, I remember seeing your posts. Hope treatment goes better for you this time. Drink lots of water, take Tylenol, and try to exercise. I think those things will make treatment a little easier. |

| #28 | Also, try not to reduce your Ribavirin medication if possible. It really increases your chances.

Well it sure sounds like that this whole treatment situation is going to be a rough go!!! I guess its all worth it in the long run, I just worry that I wont be able to take care of my babies the same during treatment! I'm just trying to prepare myself and fill myself in with as much knowledge about this as possible!
