| #2 | Hi Borealis, I'm sorry to hear you didn't clear the virus. Over two years post treatment I have sciatica, with pain in my hip shooting down my leg. It may or may not be due to the treatment. I see a pain management physician. He gave me a prescription for Lyrica, and it works! It isn't a narcotic, but rather more of an antidepressant that addresses how the brain deals with pain. You might want to check it out.

| #3 | I had developed something called periphrial neuropathy while on treatment and it caused shooting pain. I stopped treatment at that point, 42 weeks and it did subisde. I have had joint pains since finishing treatment and the only thing that has made it go away is Glucosamine and exercise. It is hard for your body to recover from treatment so I forced myself to do whatever exercise that I could. I am almost completely joint pain free at this point. This may have nothing to do with your experience but I thought I would throw it in. Here is a link to an article about hep C and nerve issues.

I have to agree. The times in between treatments I felt like I never fully recovered from the treatment. I became a vegan almost two years ago. Eating all the super foods I could. No meats, fresh fruits, veg ables etc. I mean I became a certified health nut. This helped alot. Quit all refined sugars. What a difference. I tried walking/running three miles three times a week. Intil the fatigue set in and had to quit. Just couldn't do it. The no pain no gain don't work with this stuff. I also took milk thistle and livercel religiously. Though milk thistle and livercel seems to have help some it didn't do nothing for me. Wasted about $100.00 a month on them for over a year. Changing the subject my step son went though treatment last year. HE has geno type 3, 24 week treatment. Though he had some bad days he pretty much sail right though it. Today he says he feel pretty good with no effects from the tx. He is in his thirties and always been healthily. He,s an iron pumper and works out regularly. Diet makes a lot of difference how we respond to health problems. Diet causes a lot of out health problems. My Dr. proscibed Valium for me a few days ago. It's really help with "restless legs" what I call it. They're been times I would like to just cut'em off. My wife came out of the bed room the other day and wanted to know what the hell happen to our bed. The sheets, blanket and comforter was all in one twisted mess. I would like to hear more from others about post treatment effects from Interferon/rib. |

| #5 | Hi borealis, The fatigue, I feel is a combo of treatment and hep-C. Treatment is really hard on your body. I was extremely worn down after treatment and to this day I have never fully recovered. I also notice that your hep count goes up usually after a failed treatment. Whats with that ? my eyesight was excellent before treatment and now I have to use reading and regular glasses. I have joint pains daily. Find a Doctor who specialist in Hep C. Ask your Doctor than what is causing the pain. I had a Doctor tell me once that I did not have Arthritis when 3 Doctors confirm it. Least you tried to make yourself healthier by going through treatment. I just hope that they find a better treatment soon. Take care, trekie |
