I was diagnosed approx. 7 months ago with hep c and I am so tired of being sick and tired. I have had the biopsy & went through all the tests. My doctor recommends me now starting treatment but I feel terrible some days and I want to be cleared of this horrible disease.I am 34 years old and want to live my life without feeling sick all the time....any info on this disease is helpful to me and greatly appreciated

Hi Kris,
Do you know what genotype you are?
That makes a difference if you will be on treatment for one year or six months.

Well that was two years ago when I went through treatment.
Treatment isn't a piece of cake, but like many others  I cleared the virus. I'm glad to know I now don't have a disease that is eating my liver.

Lots of information about HCV on this site. You may also want to check out the Janis and Friends website.

Hi again Kris,
I was 1B too. Luckily I had a great doctor who specialized in Hepatitis. He believed in maxing out the Ribavarin, and said he had very few patients who didn't clear the virus. I had to take Neupogen and Procrit to maintain my blood counts, but I too cleared the virus and missed very few days from work.

You can do it! You are young. That is very much in your favor.
Don't be scared. There is a cure.

I had 1A hep c treated in 1999-2000 and have been clear of the virus now for over nine years. My last liver ultrasound a year or so ago was normal and a fobrospect test ( a measure of fibrosis) done a tear or so ago was also normal ... at the time of my diagnosis of hep C I had a fair amount of fibrosis. I am a 57 year old male now and am glad I elected to treat. I feel that treatment cured me as well.
