Ok I did some internet research. This was a hard one. It is apparently a prescription, this is the only thing I found on it! It was taken from a posting from someone that just got a script for it: and Mary's Magic Mouthwash, which is a compound made by the pharmacist containing benedryl, an antiseptic, an antibiotic, and pain reliever." So I guess maybe your pharmacist can look it up? Sorry that is all I could find. But I work in a hospital and when I get to work tomorrow night I have access to more info on their pcs and I will find out for you!!!. |

Mouth sores/blisters and mouth rinse. I am having the same problems, blistering down my throat and on the roof of my mouth & gums, then they pop and the skin sluffs off. I went and got a prescription from my doc yesterday - Lidocaine 2% Viscous Solution made by HI-Tech Pharm. Make everything all numb, like when you go to the dentist. Works good but tastes nasty!!!! I don't have thrush though, because I had her check, she said it was a virus. Whatever, just make it feel better!!! See if you can get that one. Also, I bought a product called Biotene, it's a saliva replacement gel. You can by it at the grocery store by the toothpaste. It coats your mouth so less irritation. Terri |

Thank you scaryscitz and ms Billie hopefully by the end of the week I will have something that works. These meds are making me soft, I sat here and cried all morning, feeling a little sorry for myself lately, trying to stay positive though going to sit on my balcony for awhile and feel the sun and breeze. Hi Oceanpearl, I feel sorry for you - these sides can really bring our spirits down! Now please, call CVS Pharmacy about the prescription. I have filled it twice there!. Here is the description on the CVS bottle: diphenh/nystat/coref/tetracyc. Nystantin is a powerful steriod, tetarcyclin is a strong antibiotic, lidocaine is supposed to be in there somewhere but I don't know what the diphenh abbreviation stands for....or the coref. I threw away the description sheet a long time ago. Please get it - they have to mix the ingredients fresh at the pharmacy and then you keep the bottle refrigerated. Both my Hepatologist prescribed this immedateily (after describing mouth sores) and so did my dentist. You swallow it for throat sores, and swish for mouth sores, letting the liquid settle on the sore part of the mouth. IT REALLY HELPS! The bottle says "take 1 teaspoonful by mouth switsh & swallow 4 times daily". Hugs, Celeste |

I am taking the Nystatin as well, I don't have Thrush but do have sores in my mouth and my Dr prescribed Nystatin for me and it doesn't taste to bad either. It is an anti-fungal and sure has saved me the last few weeks. |

Hi again people. My Doctor refuses to write me another script wants me to see a Dentist. That's just great since he waited till the weekend to let them know and now I can't get hold of him or a Dentist!! I don't see how having open wounds on my tongue is a dental problem but hey I will try anything. Tried to eat a piece of pizza whoa not a good idea. I have absolutely no relief here and it is driving me crazy. What can I get without a script for the weekend? Hugs OP |

Dear OP, I have found the most amazing solution to the mouth sores. You can get it from this website. http://www.Canker-Rid.com . It is all natural and made by honeybees. I have been using it and have been really amazed by the results. I had huge sores on my tongue and within two days they were gone! I would suggest going to the site and checking it out. It is truly amazing and totally natural. Sorry I didn't write sooner with this info but I have been pretty weak...each day brings on a new challenge ( or so it seems at times ). I wish you the best with all you are having to withstand. Let me know what you think when you get the Canker Rid. I know it will totally blow your mind! They also have other products all made from Honeybee pollen and extracts that you may want to try. From my heart to yours, Diane |

Do not go to your Hep doctor for the mouth wash. You have to go to your normal family doctor (primary care physician). I was able to get Lidocaine for my mouth, and boy it definitely helps. Good luck. Terri |

Ocean pearl....I just read your post. I don't understand why you didn;t try the Honeybee canker rid. I sware to you it works better than anything your doctor could give you. I promise you that in one day the sores will be gone. If i hadn't used it myself when the sores were so bad I couldn't talk for days from the pain, I got the canker rid and the next morning they were all gone! Believe me! Diane |
